![]() That is not the case with the SketchUp importer for Blender because we have an impressive record of updates for the Add-on.Ī couple of weeks ago, we had a version change for both SketchUp and Blender, with the latest versions being: In the case of SketchUp, we have a free Add-on that lets us import SKP files to Blender! A significant problem with those Add-ons is that they often get outdated, leaving us with a working tool that can only handle old formats. Both forms are not directly compatible with Blender, and we have to use additional software to work with them. The data could present itself in many formats in the architectural business, such as DWG (AutoCAD) or SKP (SketchUp). It’s amazing to me how something so relatively simple and key to running a successful business such as making sure people understand what they’re buying, is so difficult when it comes to OTOY.As part of any workflow related to architectural visualization using Blender, you eventually will have to import data to use either as a reference or develop new designs. for MacOS) that I have access as a subscriber be the latest public release of Octane? I assume that would be 2022.1? If I subscribe today, what version of MacOS Octane build for Blender will I have access to? Is it for Blender 3.4? 3.3? Older? ![]() I’m basically ready to start subscribing…but I would like to know the following: ![]() I’m also confused about if paying subscribers have access to newer versions than those using Prime for free (once again…strictly talking about MacOS). ![]() My understanding is that Octane in Blender is built as a specific version of Blender so, whichever version they make available is the one that you get…and if you need some new, say GeoNodes functionality that is only available in a more recent version of Blender…you’re kinda screwed. I work on MacOS so I’m specifically looking for Metal compatible Octane. I am so confused by the way OTOY handles all of the releases. ![]()
